Hey, guys.

Maria should have definitive venue and hotel information, so we hope to launch /logistics very early next week.  I don't have a very strong vision of how this page should look, how to format and present the content, etc.  Important, but super boring copy.  

Open to ideas.  

How are you two looking to help me get this stuff up by, say, Tuesday afternoon?

Hey Nathan,

I actually produced a wireframe for the logistics page that should be a helpful frame to devlop content (and then design) for.

Let me know if this works or if you think we need more / different info.

As far as tuesday goes; if we can finalize the wireframe tomorrow morning and have the content ready by monday morning, I should be able to tackle the layout for a tuesday afternoon launch no problem.

Thanks for the reminder.  Wireframe is a good starting point.  The only thing is that venue is actually 3 venues.  2 museums and the square (plaza) they share.  One of the venues (FAD) is primary.  Not sure if this will impact the design. I like the 3 sections, though I don't think that we will need quite so much space on the top to talk about Barcelona or the Raval neighborhood.  

Maybe it would be better to switch it, in fact, since all the other pages make the BCN part so apparent, people landing on /logistics really want venue & hotel.

I have a thought about how we could make this interesting with an interactive map.

could you add the list of the three venues and possibly a google maps link?

I am going to work up a rough wireframe to rough in the idea.

That's an interesting proposition.  It's easy enough to use the venue, hotel addresses on a google map.

Mark, pls open attachments on comments 5-7.  Ned's got a nifty idea for an interactive /logistics page.

Ned, did you get your ideas for the venues sketches from the venue pictures?

I have no idea what the venues look like!

I would update the drawings to better reflect the actual venues / square when I know what they are ;)

oh yeh .. also note; I just took a screen grab of the 'get Involved' page to jump off from. 

i left the 'volunteer' and 'scholarship' content in at the bottom just to give a sense that there would be more content. I am not proposing those actual sections be there; that could be content about Barcelona, or details about how the venues will be linked or info on flights, busses etc... whatever other logistics stuff makes sense.

Hey All,

I am wondering if Tuesday is going to be a realistic deadline: today is Labour Day so we lose a full day of work that I was counting on.

I also have other commitments Wednesday; perhaps Thursday would be a more manageable launch date?

I don't know if there is other stuff tied to launching tomorrow though; let me know if Thursday works or not.

Hi,

Just wondering if there is any news on when content will be ready?

As I said, I am not available tomorrow Wednesday September 7th) and I am going to need 2 days after the content is available to complete the layout.

Also, though I can start building the interactive map without real info on the venues (based on Mark's map link) it would really help to get real info (addresses, names, good photos) of the venues.

Hi Nathan,

I wasn't sure if anything besides the registration steps for each hotel changed so taht is all I changed.

Let me know if anything else needs updating.

This is on its way live -- as soon as the changes propagate to the server.
