592996 - Multimedia Keyboard: Special Web/Home button doesn't work while Thunderbird has focus, but other special keys work

Just installed Thunderbird 3.1.2, replacing Thunderbird 2. When Thunderbird is running, the Web/Home button on my keyboard won't start my browser (Firefox). It's OK once I exit Thunderbird.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Activate Thunderbird
2.Press Web/Home button on keyboard
3.
Actual Results:  
Nothing happens. 

Expected Results:  
It should load Firefox

What kind of keyboard do you use ? Is your system up to date with regards to drivers ?

Keyboard is a standard Microsoft Internet Keyboard 102 key British version. It has a row of buttons along the top, one of which is Mail to load the current default email client, another is Web/Home to load the current default browser. These worked fine under Thunderbird 2. 

I've just checked and there isn't a later keyboard driver than the one I'm using.

Have found out more info. When in Thunderbird with the keyboard focus on Thunderbird, the Web/Home button has no effect. If however I click on the desktop background to take the focus off Thunderbird, it works OK. Incidentally, the other buttons along the top of the keyboard (the line of buttons is Back Forward Stop Mail Search Favorites Web/Home) work OK even when the focus is on Thunderbird; it's just Web/Home which doesn't.

Ludovic, if comment 4 is true...

- *only Web/Home button* doesn't work if TB has focus (but other multimedia buttons work when TB has focus)
- Web/Home button doesn't work *only if TB has focus*, but works elsewhere

...is it possible that TB intercepts this keypress from a special key on Multimedia keyboard?
Any other ideas? Do we hijack Firefox when clicking on URLs from within TB?
