Gimme back that double clicking on a mail opens a real new window, not a new tab. feeling 'f*ing* bad, cause i like 2 see all my preferres Windoes at once, e.g. opening an e-mail in a new window, opening litening and comparing.

i do NOT wat to switch tabs doing that. if i wanted, i'd use lotus notes.

tools menu, options, advanced, reading and display, change the Open Messages In setting.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → RESOLVED

look into you prefs and you'll see it's still there.
