After upgrading to Thunderbird 3.1, the columns in the message pane are not truncated.  A long line in the column for subject runs into the next column, insted of hiding as "...".  I use Windows XP professional 

Reproducible: Always

hkhermit could try if this issue happens also in safe-mode (see how to start TB in
safe mode here http://support.mozillamessaging.com/sr-CYRL/kb/Safe+Mode )

If TB behaves the same, please, could provide one screenshot of your issue (using above "Add an attachment" link)?

I believe this was an intentional change in behaviour so that the whole subject line could actually be seen without having to hover over the subject.
