I'm running minefield nightlies (currently Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b6pre) Gecko/20100905 Firefox/4.0b6pre) When running 3.6.x with this profile, I can run searches just fine. However, running Minefield with this profile, I get this error when running searches: Error: [Exception... "'DB failed getting form autocomplete values' when calling method: [nsIFormAutoComplete::autoCompleteSearch]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: jar:file:///Applications/Minefield.app/Contents/MacOS/omni.jar!/components/nsSearchSuggestions.js :: SAC_SHSearch :: line 425" data: no] Source File: jar:file:///Applications/Minefield.app/Contents/MacOS/omni.jar!/components/nsSearchSuggestions.js Line: 425 (FWIW, I can run searches from the location bar, which makes sense because that doesn't autocomplete searches).
For which search engine? Do you see any errors in the error console? Have you also tried in safe mode?
Google is the search engine, the error on the error console is the one above. I have recently started Minefield in safe mode and all of my extensions are disabled. Additional piece of info: the search completions do actually appear, but it does not run the search when I hit enter. The error in the description appears for each keystroke that I type in the search box.
In the error console please click the link which points to the line of the error. Please post it here. Also please run Firefox with a fresh profile for testing purposes and check if that fixes the problem. If yes, we have to check which file in your original profile is causing this error. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
It's likely formhistory.sqlite, given the exception in comment 0. Presumably form autocomplete for web input fields is broken too? I don't know of any existing bugs on form history corruption - that may be kind of hard to debug if it's a one-time thing.
