I just updated Thunderbird and added OpenPGP on my system, and now I can not 'close' the program with a keyboard shortcut or by choosing 'Close' in the pulldown menu.  I uninstalled OpenPGP and restarted Thunderbird.  The bug still exists.

The problem with closing the mail window with a keystoke or choosing "Close" in the pulldown menu was resolved once I ran Disk Utility on the system and restarted my computer.
