Hi,
Firefox 4 Beta 5 is release today, but it's slow while switching tabs, please try to open more than 5 tabs, and click on those tabs , it doesn't immediately switch like beta 4 version.
Another thing, Beta5 takes too much CPU resource on task manager but beta4 didn't.
Please fix, i love FF
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open more than 5 tabs FF beta5,
2. click between those tab,and watching task manager.
3. notice: CPU resource increase whiule clicking tabs, and tabs doesn't reponds immediately like beta4
Actual Results:
Tab focus slower than beta4, CPU increase alot while running beta5 but not on beta4
Expected Results:
atleast tab focus while switching is fast as beta4
Please fix, i love FF

Is your Issue reproduceable Extension-less in Safe-Mode and/or using a new Profile?

Forgot to ask:
Does disabling Hardware Acceleration under Options/Advanced help?
Hi,
it does help when disabling Hardware Acceleration under Options/Advanced help, tab focus is faster , not delay 1-2sec anymore..
but somehow, the CPU ussage is still higher than beta4, on beta 5 is go up to 14-17 , but on beta4, it only goes up to 8-9 while clicking between tabs

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b6pre) Gecko/20100910 Firefox/4.0b6pre
I was getting same problem on beta 3 or 4, but I cannot reproduce it in the beta 6pre.

I also have this problem. I use beta6pre, but it was a problem in previous trunk releases too. It's a problem with a new profile too, and with disabled hardware acceleration too.

Hunyady, if it was a problem in Firefox 4 beta 4 for you, then you're not seeing this bug. This bug is specifically about a regression that happened after beta 4.
Please do file a separate bug on your problem, mention the bug number here or just cc me, and indicate in that separate bug when the issue you see appeared.

It seems that most people do not have issues with hardware acceleration causing slow tab switching any more; please reopen if that's not the case.
