User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_4; de-de) AppleWebKit/533.17.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.1 Safari/533.17.8 Build Identifier: Firefox 4.0b5 on Mac OS X Trying to access a saved search from the bookmark menu immediately results in a hang up (beach ball) of FF 4.0b5, the menu entry for the saved search doesn't open and show its content. FF hangs immediately on clicking. FF 4.0b5 starts and works fine as long as I don't access a saved search from the bookmark menu. The problem only seems to exist in FF 4.0b5, downgrading to FF 4.0b4 solves the problem for the time being. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open FF restores the last session as expected 2.opening an additional window -> still fine 3.clicking the entry of a saved search in the bookmarks menu -> FF hangs with beach ball every time

I changed the summary of the bug to indicate the browser is hanging, not crashing. If it truly crashes, please type about:crashes in the URL bar and paste the report ID in this bug. I haven't been able to reproduce your issue. Does it happen in safe mode with no addons installed (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode)? Also, how large is the saved search? Are we talking 20 items or hundreds?
Summary: FF 4.0b5 crashes (beach ball) on accessing a saved search from the bookmark menu → FF 4.0b5 hangs (beach ball) on accessing a saved search from the bookmark menu

In this specific case the resulting number of items returned by the search is probably even a little less than 10. I haven't tried safe mode yet, I have just used FF as usual and just tried to access a saved search that I am keeping in my bookmark bar as a sub menu. I am using this since a long time and it never happened before, just the upgrade from FF 4.0b4 to FF 4.0b5 caused it to happen, no other change was made. Is there possibly a change in the structure of saved searches between b4 and b5?

Is this still happening to you using la last release?
(In reply to comment #3) > Is this still happening to you using la last release? Just updated to 4.0Beta12, was using 4.0Beta4 before this. My issue seems to be resolved, it is working for me flawless now, as it was with the 3.x versions in the past. Thanks a lot.
