User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b6pre) Gecko/20100910 Firefox/4.0b6pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b6pre) Gecko/20100910 Firefox/4.0b6pre Plugin-container may slow page load time. On Firefox 3.5 I get 13 seconds to full load while Firefox 4b6pre needs 34 seconds. Testing using a old computer PII 400Mhz 128Mb in safe-mode. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open http://translate.google.com/ with Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 4b6pre and see the time to load. Expected Results: It would be much better if firefox 4 get same speed that 3.5 get. Some pages like http://www.orkut.com.br/Main#Profile?uid=8729809069025111270 are a pain to load on firefox 4.
Carlos, is there something in particular that makes you say the issue is plugin-container?
Above are system logs when I hit translate.google.com and page stop loading. You can see that firefox loses more time with Plugin-container.exe The orkut page almost freezes firefox 4b6 and after closing the page, firefox gets lots of slowdowns and I can only stop that by restart. I cannot reproduce on firefox 3.5
Right; 3.5 doesn't have out of process plug-ins.

(In reply to comment #0) Both Examples use Adobe Flash. Does updating the Flash Version help? http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/?installer=Flash_Player_10.1_for_Windows_-_Other_Browsers Moreover, do you get the same Degradation of Performance/Loading Time using Firefox 3.6 instead of Firefox 4 Beta? I'd say finding a Regression Windows will just lead to Introduction of OOPP.
Testing using latest Adobe Flash player 10,1,102,64 I get similar issue with translate.google.com : Firefox 3.5.17pre (20 seconds) Firefox 3.6.3 (12 seconds) Firefox 3.6.13 (27 seconds) Firefox 4b8pre (29 seconds) However, the slowdowns are more noticeable in Firefox 4 betas.
I follow the steps and all is working in the right way, in Firefox 14, Aurora 15, and Nightly, on Linux x86-64, so i think that this issue was solved in those latest versions, but could someone follow the steps for Firefox 3.5 and confirm.

Please reopen this bug if it's reproducible in the latest Nightly.
