Automatic upgrade causes inbox (only) was overwrited with an empty fájl.
Any other folder are OK, not touched. (e.g I have spam messages in my deleted folder :))
It was an automatic session by UBUNTU 10.04 upgrade manager without any manual set-up.

maybe. Balint how did you udpate using ubuntu's package manager or using Thunderbird's update mechanism ?

Ludovic, I have used Ubuntu's upgrade manager. It was an automatic offered upgrade of Thunderbird.

I have tried to find another inbox folder or a file named to inbox.xxx. I hoped that there is some kind of copy about it without success. It seam's to that it was simply overwrote. - Sorry for late answer.

We don't do any processing of the profile, do you know what it was upgraded from and to?

It was upgraded from TB 3.0.x (I don't know sorry) to TB 3.0.7. on 2010.sept.11.
Every upgrade was started on the machine so maybe you can investigate which version was installed officially before.

Wayne, No I haven't seen again fortunately.
But it is also true that I am using the 10.04 LTS version, so
there was no Ubuntu upgrade in my system.
I'm happy with TB 3.1.11 now. :)
