From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows NT) BuildID: 20000110821 Duplicated entries in the history of the location bar may appear if the same URL is typed by hand several times. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Clear the history location bar. 2. Type the URL, e.g. http://www.slashdot.org, and visit the site. 2. Type again, http://www.slashdot.org, without using the autocompletion feature, and visit the site. 3. If you type http://www.slas in the location bar the browser presents a menu in which a duplicated entry (http://www.slashdot.org) appears. Expected Results: Duplicated entries should be avoided in the location bar. This bug is related to bug #51331. I haven't been able to test this bug on other platforms.
I see this on Linux as well, build 2000111906.

I think this is nothing to do with autocomplete enabling or disabling. I think this is the same as 54392. Marking as dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 54392 ***
