Does this condition persist after you restart Thunderbird? If you clear the disk cache (tools menu, options, advanced, network and disk space tab, clear now button?

Also, do you have the imap folder configured for offline use, so that we store the messages in the offline store?

I made a new test. I disconected from the network. No access to the IMAP folders (error conecting - normal) I did the same and even disconected, the problem remains.

next two things to try, options, advanced, networking and disk space, "clear now" button to clear the disk cache, and properties dialog on the folder, "repair" button to force us to rebuild the offline store.
