User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.5.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.5.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

If you navigate to a site that pops up a modal window (their own creation or even FireFoxes own cookie confirmation window) and try to move a tab before the popup appears but are still in the process when it does popup, FireFox will lock up. Nothing short of launching the task manager and manually killing it will allow you to continue at all with anything FireFox related.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.launch a website that has a modal popup window (the one i have problems with is an internal website for my company but even a site that uses cookies and have FireFox ask for confirmation will work.)
2.Try to move a tab before the confirmation popup window pops up then hang on long enough for the window to popup.
3.Done... try and complete the tab move or close the modal window or close FireFox, or even try opening a new instance of FireFox.
Actual Results:
FireFox locks up and does not allow the user to close the modal window.

Expected Results:
FireFox should not lock up, maybe wait for the action (move a tab) to be completed before allowing popups or allow some sort of escape valve so you dont lose work on other pages.

Too much power is given to the modal windows, there needs to be a way to work behind these windows, but then i guess it wouldnt be "modal"

Modal is useful for a lot of things, but there are more problems with them then without them for people that know the term "modal". I would LOVE to turn off ALL modal ANYTHING in firefox, but since developers froth rabidly at the thought of protecting users from themselves, i know this will never happen... (If I am wrong, please let me know ;)
