... you should be able to drag and drop tabs into and out of the app tab strip in Panorama. This feature didn't make it into the initial landing of app tabs in Panorama, and at this point I think it may be too late for FF4.0, but I'm entering it into bugzilla for completeness.
Agreed that this will have to wait. Sad, though.

Probably worthwhile filing a follow up bug for an interim solution: when you right click on an app-tab in Panorama it should let you unpin it. That also will probably not make Firefox 4.0.
