A huge proportion of Web sites is designed to work without a horizontal scrollbar when the browser window is maximized on a screen that is 1024 pixels wide. These days, 1920 by 1080 is the "Full HD" TV display size and 1920 by 1200 is a popular computer screen size.

None of the zoom levels Firefox offers is just right for zooming sizes designed for 1024-pixel-wide displays to 1920-pixel-wide displays. Adding the zoom level 1.85 would add a level that works just right.
