Closing and reopening Thunderbird does not get rid of them. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Don't know how to reproduce it. It just happens when I have the program open. 2. 3.
David please can you provide a steps to reproduce for us? Do you have observed anymore this issue?

Yes, I'm still seeing it. Here's what I have installed: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101207 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1.7
does the problem reproduc when started in safe mode? have you checked your mouse operation? (even operated thunderbird with it disconnected)
