resolving invalid unless you state more information - mozilla will not run any
program, it will ask you to download the file or open it with something.

I do not see the problem here... I'd say OF COURSE you get a dialog to save the
program you clicked? Having browsers execute any .exe file you download (or even
having that option at all) is a VERY bad idea imho... (Internet Explorer?
Security???). People should learn the OS they're using rather than trying things
like this...
(Revolving Invalid for real now - for some reason it was still/again(?)

NO!!! I means that you excute program from your computer.
But excuting programs from anohter computer is DISABLED! But ONLY form your
local storage. YOU CAN't downlaod your program from your local storage. you can
downlaod your program from intenret only.

Liked stated before, Mozilla nor NS6 will run any program for security reasons.
That IE does this is IE's problem, it can hardly be called a feature.
Marking invalid again, please DON'T REOPEN! This is clearly invalid!

I believe the request here is to be able to use Mozilla as a graphical shell a
la Internet Explorer.
Notice that the xmlterm project project is doing something like that, but that's
not a graphical shell -- it's a weirdly hybrid graphical/text shell.
It's not clear that this is invalid, since executing files from one's own hard
drive with mozilla is not any more of a security risk than doing so from a DOS
prompt.
I would suggest bringing this up in the newsgroups...

This is not invalid. This is a rfe for being able to use mozilla as a file
manager/task launcher. Currently, when you run local programs, it treats them
as remote programs, and asks how to handle them. Basically, to make this work,
there needs to be a way to determine local vs. remote, and how to run a program
in place, rather than try to download it. Please don't invalidate this bug, it
is perfectly legit. There may be a dupe tho.

Reporter: I suspect that your native language is not English.
So far you have written a few bug reports that are incomprehensible (to native
English speakers) and that do not follow bug reporting guidelines.

Then for your next bug, please use

If you would like to reopen this bug, please explain
a. what is 'local storage'.
b. why you think all web browsers should be able to run arbitrary programs.

If and when this functionality is implemented, it certainly won't be on the
basis of this bug report. Bug reports, at a minimum, need to be coherent
in order for anyone to do anything with them. Spam does not count.
Marking INVALID. If someone disagrees, then open a bug in Browser-General
with a specific Request for Enhancement.
