Can you check you firewall settings ?
While installing ten update, there were two Firewalls working on my computer: Windows and McAfee. After deactivating Windows (XP) firewall, the Mails didn´t reappear anyway.
Do you get error messages ? Are you suing pop or imap ?
deactivating a firewall doesn't stop it from blocking. The windows Firewall is however safe and isn't known to cause problems. Most other firewalls on the other side are known to cause such problems. Reset the thunderbird setting in the McAfee Firewall.
