Description

Downloaded (or local) HTML files cannot be opened from the desktop (by dragging
and dropping). They can, however, be opened from within Mozilla using the "open"
feature.

Similar bugs have come up in the past (see bug 12858 and bug 6255)

This might be a regression...

I am able to view an HTML file via drag and drop (provided the file has a valid
extension: .htm, .html, .xml, etc.). Are you still seeing this in the most
recent builds?

I still see this in the most recent nightly build (2000111608). I am attempting
to create a test file to download and see if it will drag and drop...

Download my attachment and see if it will drag and drop (it will not for me)

The file is saved as showattachment.cgi. If I drag this file onto an open
browser window, or onto the Mozilla application icon, the page will load
correctly. Mozilla will not open a file that doesn't have a valid extension. If
I were to remove the ".cgi" then the file wouldn't load. One of the drawbacks of
no file creator/type support. Mozilla 2000111708.

A rebuild of my desktop shows that drag and drop indeed works. I doubt it was
broken, sorry for the spam.
