I'm Ghjaseppiu, I wish to create a team for the translation of Firefox in Corsican (more specifically in the western-central dialect).

The web site to show our work is likely to be firefoxincorsu.free.fr but it doesn't exist yet (it is a matter of days).
The code would be co-FR I guess, since Corsica is part of France.

Thanks for the answer.
I'll try to follow these steps as soon as I can (I am currently at work and barely have time). I didn't wan't to modify the Corsican translation page on L10n:Teams since I didn't know those who created it and I failed to contact them. 
I'll add our names (I am the only contributor as for the "technical" part, the others mainly think about the terminology).

As for the progress, we've done a translation from the it.xpi language pack, and makes it co(betax_x).xpi ("beta" since words choices are not finished yet, and there may be some changes). For now it can be downloaded from 2 pages :
- a personal page http://langue.corse.free.fr/traduzzione_firefox/co.htm
- an education "official" page : http://www.ac-corse.fr/lcc_20/ (we are all teachers that work together with the education general inspector for corsican language).
There is also a website for this translation, but it's been activated very recently and it is not built yet : http://firefoxincorsu.free.fr/

I'm still waiting for an email that is not professional for the other members.

By the way, should I edit this page : https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Teams:co  or should I make our own page apart ? In this case, how can I do ?(the web site doesn't exist, and I got an error message when I tried to mail them). 

Another thing : is co-CO correct given that Corsica is not a state ? I thought that since it's part of France the correct name would be co-FR.

I've forgotten one thing : what do you mean with "attach the files
following the the same source structure as the it language pack" ?

I thought I had followed the same source structure : I renamed the "it" folder with "co" and I did the same for all the files that referred to it, and it seems to work properly since when I installed the corsican language pack the first page became www.google.com/intl/co/ instead of www.google.fr and there seems to be no bug at all so far... ?

This is what I was talking about.  If you are using "it" as a template, the way that the directories and files within directories will be good to follow.  When you have translated all entities, please send the zip file of all the directories containing all the translated files.  We can then do a review.

'co-CO' indicates Corsican as spoken in Colombia, which I would venture to guess represents an extremely small population. If anything, you would use co-FR to differentiate from co-IT, but I question the need for the region subtag at all. Is there that much difference (particularly, in written form) between the Corsican spoken in France and the Corsican spoken in Italy?

You must be right. Corsican is also spoken is northen Sardinia but it's barely different from corsican southern dialects and it's classofied along with corsican most of the time. So the region subtag is expendable I guess.
Now how can that be fixed ?

In terms of the bug summary, it's easy to change. Does it show up anywhere else yet?

To be clear, the locale code is sufficient as 'co'.

Since I fail to understand what you exactly mean with «source», I guess I don't have it. I have the original italian language pack that I used (it was the up to date xpi file when I started the translation that is to say almost exactly one year ago) but I don't have any summary age as you have showed me.

For what I understand he took the it.xpi language pack, decompressed it and translated all files inside, honestly I don't know an easy way to go back to the Hg structure (I usually go the way). 

I'll try to have a look at the language pack. If I can recreate the Hg structure should I attach the file here or do something else?

If you can reorder stuff into our source format, attaching that here would be great, thanks. Also, maybe you can figure out a trick to make it easier for Ghjaseppiu to re-use your work in catching up with corsican in some way?

Not sure if I can help him with my files: if I give him my glossary from Mozilla Translator all strings will be in Italian. It's probably easier to start with a new clean glossary and import the existing translation.

This locale registration bug is being resolved as INCOMPLETE because it has not been updated since before the final Firefox 10esr release on 2013-01-08. It is assumed that there has not been any progress in developing the desired localization since that time.

If you feel this bug has been closed in error, please reopen it and provide a status update for your locale.
