When I first dragged the sync toolbar button onto my toolbar, I immediately found a similarity between that one and the reload button. Especially as Internet Explorer also uses two opposing circular arrows to indicate the reload button. I'm not sure whether there's a way out of this, I just think that it would possibly confuse future users.

Yes, the icons can still be confused especially if you customize put the Sync icon on the URL/search toolbar.

That said, unless you want to change the Sync logo altogether, I'd be inclined to won't fix this.

Besides, the Sync toolbar button doesn't have a tooltip. Maybe we should add one as first measure.

We don't have a toolbar button now. We have an add-on bar button, but that's at the bottom of the screen and really hard to confuse.
