I have tried several times to install PSM from the URL above, the last time I actually recieved a new mozilla window showing: XPInstall Results PSM: Error encountered -- -225 I have also tried to install the theme builder from http://chameleon.mozdev.org/installation.html both following the nightly build link and saving the theme_builder_current.xpi to disk and opening it via the File::Open_File... menu. I have also tried to install a previously downloaded copy of jre.xpi via the File::Open_File.. menu. I did notice an error in the Installation dialog once but it disappeared too fast to read, it should probably remain on screen requiring a user to clear the dialog so that they are fully aware of the error. I am using the latest nightly build I have available (ID: 2000111221) on Slackware 7.1 linux, kernel 2.2.17, i686 I caught the following error on the console when I tried the menu item Tasks::Privacy and Security::Personal Security Manager ---------------------------------------- JavaScript error: line 0: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsISecurityManagerComponent.displaySecurityAdvisor]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://communicator/content/PSMTaskMenu.xul :: displaySecurityAdvisor :: line 12" data: no] ----------------------------------------- and later after I'd tried the PSM install page. ----------------------------------------- JavaScript error: http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/psm/psm-mozilla/index.html line 19: xpi is not defined -----------------------------------------
things seem to work for me with linux trunk 2000111306...
