Found out that this plug-in is commonly added by programs like AOL that use the "Viewpoint" media player. Bug was blocked for stability issues according to a support forum I read, the issues should be fixed as this is a commonly used plug-in.

Firefox doesn't come with plugins

You understand that we block only third party plugins that are causing crashes because there is a bug in their plugin ? We would fix a crash on our side if it's caused by a bug in Gecko

Please request a fix from the author of the plugin.
