When you not safe passwords and clearing complete history for example at exit firefox sync addon forget usage and all settings. So you have to go through the wizard each time you want to use that addon, thats annoying. It would be nice if the plugin save the settings and asks only for user account and password and not also for sync options and which objects to sync.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setting up Firefox Sync once
2. Clear complete history, all stuff including passwords
3. Restart firefox
4. Try to logon firefox sync, full wizard comming up and ask all stuff that you have already configured, not only the passwords for syncing
Actual Results:  
You have to configure Firefox Sync each start of firefox.

Expected Results:  
Firefox Sync Addon ask only for Passwords not for complete new configuration.

Standard Themed Firefox 3.6.10 with following addons: Adblock Plus, BetterPrivacy, Firebug, Firefox Sync, Mouse Gestures Redox, NoScript, Web Developer.

Privacy Settings choosen:
Dont Save History, Passwords, Forms, ...
Clear complete History at exit

If you set Firefox to clear all saved passwords, it's hard for me to argue that we should special-case Sync's passwords.  Why not just uncheck "Remember passwords for sites" and not clear passwords on shutdown?

I think this is a dupe of a WONTFIX, actually, but I think principle of least surprise argues for "if a user says to erase all passwords, all passwords should be erased"

Read the text, it's ok that the password is deleted. But why i have to do all steps in the wizard again? I mean the settings of merging synced data and what stuff to sync, these are normal settings for the addon and has nothing todo with the password management. But the addon says i have never configured it and pops up the wizard again. It should ask me only for my password not for the other settings again. The UI is missing a simple login window.

It was fixed in some beta versions (different UIs) but in the last few versions it has this annoying behavior.

To make it clear, firefox forget the configuration after a restart, not at running. I think its a little bit unclear in the description.
