User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 The Flash Player plugin doesn't seem to receive mouse wheel events when the mouse wheel is scrolled above Flash content on Mac OS X. When you scroll the mouse wheel above the Flash application in the example web page, the events should be listed in a text box. With the latest Flash Player in Safari they work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the example web page (http://dev.avocado.fi/mousewheel/) 2. Use mouse wheel 3. Get disappointed :( Actual Results: The textfield stays blank Expected Results: The MOUSE_WHEEL events should be listed in the textfield The Flash developer community has been suffering a long time from this, and Adobe has told us that basically there is nothing they can do to fix this. The mouse wheel works on Safari + Flash and apparently on Cocoa-based browsers. (see http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-503) There are workarounds to get the mouse wheel working by injecting JavaScript functions that detect the event and relay them to the Flash-application, but a real support would be well appreciated by the community.
