** Observed with 11/8/2000 MN Win 32 build ** I hope this has been filed already. Here's a scenario that may be encountered by a user. (I have.) 1. The user replies to a message by "Reply All". The original message has been addressed to a mailing list, individuals and then CC'ed to a newsgroup. 2. The user has not yet set up a news account -- maybe he/she does not have news server access or does not care to read news. 3. Now the user composes a reply and presses "Send". But the composer window does not disappear and the message does not get sent. This is true no matter how many times the user attempts to send a message. 4. The user can send it when the user deletes the newsgroup address on the CC line. Now if you just happen to be replying to a message which contains several addresses including a newsgroup name, average users may not realize that this is what happened and how to get around it, i.e. create a news account or delete the newsgroup name from the addressee list. Since the message has to go to an NNTP server to be posted as a news article, this seems like an unavoidable problem under the circumstances. But we should at least bring up a warning dialog. The current situation will be totally confusing to an average user.

I think this may be a DUP (like you, I hope so, too). I'll check.

I couldn't find a DUP of this bug, thanks for logging it.
Is this problem still existent in more recent Mozilla versions? (I have no news access)
warpozio@yahoo.com: you have no news access? what's blocking you from accecssing news://news.mozilla.org?
