The cursor is frozen. I can not even enter an address. The only way to unblock it is to click on Save. But strangely, some times just waiting for 20 seconds seems to work also, but not always. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. open TB 2. compose or reply to email 3. Actual Results: frozen keyboard Expected Results: appearing text
Can you check that your windows drivers are up to date ?

what is cpu usage of thunderbird and other applications when you see this problem?

thanks for the CPU graph. I didn't see a cause there. nominal CPU please do the following and comment in the bug: 1. start in safe mode https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode 2. if safe mode does not help, disable address autocomplete Tools > options > composition > addressing > uncheck all choices

The problem with the latest version of TB (3.1.4)is not resolved. I simply uninstalled the 3.1.4. and installed an older version of TB (3.0.9). I see a new release 3.1.5 is available and will install it to see if the keyboard hanging problem is still an issue. Thanks for your time in trying to resolve this problem.

gut feeling is this isn't a thunderbird bug... M. Segalla can you create a NEW profile (don't delete the old one). http://support.mozillamessaging.com/bg/kb/Using+Multiple+Profiles Do you get same results if you use a new profile?
