Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Find a link nearby; right click and choose Save Link As. 2. Type a filename that includes a question mark. 3. Hit "Enter" or press "Save." Actual Results: Nothing Happens. Expected Results: The file saves, with the question mark in the name, OR it has behavior similar to when you include e. g. a colon (:): it tells you the file name is not valid. (would be nice if it said WHY too, but that's another issue). Happens on FF 3.5 on Vista and 3.6 on Windows 7.

I don't think this still occurs. Do you see it in v6?

I see it in v 6.0.1, just as described. I'm not set up right now to test updated versions of everything, but they should be reasonably current.
Reproduced in Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7. The Save As dialog simply stays up apparently refusing to use a file name with a ? in it. This is the same behavior as in IE9 and given that the Save As dialog is the native Windows dialog that we have no control over I would say this is the correct behavior for the platform.

This is acknowledged as a bug, as described in the initial post, but if we're not going to fix it, WONTFIX seems like a better description of resolution.
Resolution: INVALID → WONTFIX
It's not our dialog, so it's not our behavior and the accurate resolution is invalid. WONTFIX implies it is potentially fixable by mozilla and we choose not to - but we don't even have the choice in this case.
