Details
Seen while running Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b7pre) Gecko/20101004 Firefox/4.0b7pre STR: 1. Load Minefield | Preferences 2. Switch between the various categories 3. Observe white flashing in screenshot http://www.screencast.com/users/mozillamarcia/folders/Jing/media/09a6de0c-e2c7-4b8e-8c2c-60aaf15d4989 Does not happen using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b6 so this is a regression

I checked another lab machine running 10.6 and the same thing happens on that machine. This behavior does not occur on my 10.5 laptop.

Seems as if it is most noticeable when switching between the Privacy and Security Tab.

If I turn off layers.accelerate-all in about:config the problem goes away.

This bug seems to occur when switching between panes causes the window size to shrink vertically but not when expanding. An easy STR is to switch from the General pane to the Tabs pane.

I see the flicker, too - this doesn't feel likely to actually be a preferences bug. I think something on the xul layer, or more likely in layout, is the culprit. Roc, thoughts?
