60190 - Redraw "Mail Folders" with sidebar adjustment

When I use messanger, I lift the sidebar so that only the top
half of "Mail Folders" is seen. Then when I decrease the
size of the sidebar, only the top half of the letters  in
"Mail Folders" are seen

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start looking at e-mail
2.Move the adjustable bar up to make more room for the sidebar. Cover up part of
"Mail Folders"
3.Move the adjustable bar down to make less room for the sidebar. Observe only
part of "Mail Folders"

Actual Results:  See above	

Expected Results:  Redraw the words "Mail Folder"

The problem occurs on all platforms. The only workaround is to close and open mail.

No, I think that refers to the title "Mail Folders", if you look at the screen
shot on that bug.

It is my understanding that this bug refers to the actual folders themselves,
which I CAN'T BELIEVE MORE PEOPLE don't find totally annoying and unacceptable.
 It is pretty ugly, confusing to the average user, and unprofessional.  Sorry to
be so harsh, but it "bugs" me *every-time* I try to use Mail/News for either
Mail, or News.

The comment above says the only work-around is to close/open mail/news, but I've
found that to get the mailboxes to redraw expand/collapse one of them, at which
time the pane then redraws.

For Netscape QA: VERY CONFUSING for the average user. I don't think my parents
would think of that.  The average Mozilla user of course would get it.

I can still see this happening in 0.9.3.

I'll post a screen shot.

I think this bug is also a duplicate of 56303 since the original description
states "Expected Results:  Redraw the words "Mail Folder".


I also agree with your observation with mail folders disappearing. Bug# 78584
describes a similar problem with a statement by hyatt that the folder pane will
be converted to a new format using the "outliner" which should fix this problem.
Bug# 73865 is the actual bug which asks for the folder pane to use the outliner.
When this bug is verified then folder testing will be performed.
