Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.13) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.5.13 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

While using browser if you right click a hyperlink and push T it will open the link in a new TAB. If you do the same to the bookmark toolbar it will CUT the bookmark instead of opening it in a new TAB. For some reason, W is the hot key to open a bookmark on the toolbar in a new TAB.

If you right click a hyperlink and push W, it will open it in a new window. These two functions are not the same and its frustrating to keep cutting your bookmarks off the toolbar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click a hyperlink on a web page and push T, opens in a TAB
2. Right click a bookmark on the bookmark toolbar and push T, cuts bookmark off toolbar.

Expected Results:
Expect to be able to right click bookmark toolbar and have keyboard shortcut the same, T for open in New Tab.
Priority: -- → P5
Version: unspecified → 3.5 Branch
This problem might be related to OS or UI Localization or whatever.

NOT reproducible with German Seamonkey 2.33.B1 Build 20150223174142 on German WIN7 64bit

@John:
What shorcut is shown in bookmark toolbar context menu for "cut" and for "open in new TAB"?

I have tried to test this bug with Firefox Developer Edition 38.0a2(2015-03-20)and i found the same bug.

User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0
browser.startup.homepage_override.buildID	20150320004008
I got this problem in
nightly 39.0a1 (2015-03-19)
Build ID 20150319030202

developer 38.0a2 (2015-03-20)
Build ID 20150320004008

windows 7
I observed and tested that bug. But I don,t thnik that it is a bug.And i tried it with
(Firefox Developer version 38.0a2,BulidID-2015032004008,user agent:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:38.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/38.0),
Firefox nightly version 39.0a1 user agent (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:39.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/39.0, BulidID- 20150320030211).

91.0.1 (64-bit) still the case (for Bookmarks in sidebar, at least)

I think this is a bug

"Right click on a link, hit T, that opens the link in a new tab" is how I would expect it to work. But it doesn't work like that

Severity: trivial → S4
