the Socorro 1.7.x series is prone to getting jobs stuck in the queue. Since 1.7 is seeing use beyond its intended lifespan, this problem needs to be addressed. The first problem to resolve is when a job is queued that already exists in the database. The processor will refuse to reprocess it but doesn't delete the request from the queue. Solution: delete these jobs from the queue when they are detected. The second problem is when a processor crashes or is shut down, some jobs may be left in the queue in a half processed state. The processor won't touch them so they stick around forever. Solution: when a processor first starts, it should look to the queue and reset all half done jobs so that they can be properly finished.
