User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b6 In firefox 3, I had the "new tab" button on my navigation bar, and could highlight a word or phrase from something I was reading, and drag the highlighted contents onto the new tab button to initiate a search in a new tab with the terms. Super convenient. Now, there is no "new tab" button, just the "+" thing next to tabs in the upper right corner, and I cannot drag highlighted words onto it to generate a new tab with a search in it. It only works for dragging URLs. Clicking customize and dragging the "+" to the navigation pane seems to fix the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Highlight word(s) in the current page 2. Drag to new tab button Actual Results: Doesn't initiate a new search Expected Results: A new tab is opened with a search using the dragged highlighted word(s)
Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110116 Firefox/4.0b10pre Confirming issue. Changing default position of the "Open New Tab" and dragging highlighted text over it creates a new tab with the search results. Possible correlation with Bug 624357.
