This started happening because of bug 129941, but if I modify the test to not use overflow:hidden it asserts even before that patch. So this is a general float-splitting bug. The attached testcase, when run in the reftest harness shows it in debug builds from earlier today, say. It might show it in browser too, if the page size is small enough....

This apparently only happens on Linux... at least on tinderbox.
OS: Mac OS X → Linux
Summary: The reftest for bug 421710 asserts "Two floats with same parent in same floats list, expect weird errors" → The reftest for bug 421710 asserts "Two floats with same parent in same floats list, expect weird errors" on Linux
I think we should at least block on figuring that out.

Bug 615953 says this also happens on Windows 7. It's probably size-dependent.

Although I haven't investigated this case, I investigated the case in bug 595740 and found the assertions to be invalid. I changed them to be valid, and they went away in this case.

Hi Boris,
Is this bug report still relevant today or should it be closed?

Looks like this can be closed. The assertion annotation on the test was removed in https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/44689b5ff306b9ebee413c4e0f0a32f88204ae5c (bug 1574046), looks like.
