60284 - To: popup address completion does not complete

Enter the beginning of an email address or alias.  Pause to let the popup supply
list of matches.  Select a match from the list.  The selected entry does NOT get
put on the address line.  Only the text actually typed ever ends up there.

In order to put in an address, must type either the entire address or must
select it from the address book.

This is reproducible 100% of the time.

This is seen on the 20001108 build as well as numerous other builds in the last
month.  This used to work on the mid-early October builds.

still does not work for me with the most recent build (2000-11-15-21-Mtrunk)

I upgrade builds by 'rm -rf package', then 'tar xvfz m*.gz' (verifying that the
only matching .gz file is the most recently downloaded mozilla).  anything wrong
with this strategy?

There's nothing wrong with upgrading that way... One thing.  If you've been
using Mozilla for a while with the same profile, it might be corrupt.  Try
removing (or moving) .mozilla and running Mozilla?

I deleted .mozilla (actually, moved it off to a different directory name), and
ran Mozilla.  Let it build me a new .mozilla.  Added a few entries to the new
address book to test with.  Still, the same problem.

should be fine again. The fix I did originaly has been removed by accident!

yeah, this worksforme using build 2001022012 on RedHat 7.0 When populating an
autocomplete address, the whole address string gets copied and placed in the To:
field.
