This broke sometime in the last day or so. Frequent MDN users prefer to link directly to https://developer.mozilla.org/en -- which should be the old main page of the site. But sometime in the last day or two, this started redirecting to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/, which is an incredibly frustrating change.

Please remove this redirect.

This was because of Bug 592667

Can you guys make up your mind on if you want a redirect or not and we'll take action accordingly :)

Also, in the future, IT would like a point of contact for devmo who takes these calls, so we don't have these issues in the future.

As a casual user of MDN, I don't understand that reasoning, if the main page isn't the main page, then MDN is broken by design IMHO, and if the old main page was that good, I wonder why we needed a new one in the first place. Still, the value of the new one was touted out a lot, so I guess it would be best to move the old one to some subpage if it really has a value to people.

But then, this is the call of you MDN creators, and probably not for me as a user of the site.

I was not aware of that bug; I would have complained if I'd seen it. I don't like this change and would like it changed back. A lot of long-time MDC users have set /en/ as their main page because frankly it's much more useful than the /en-US/ page, which is largely marketing clutter.

Also, I don't think Robert gets to decide whether MDN redirects should be put into place; you would need to speak to either Jay or myself. :)

Having several main pages for the same project doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but when the Wiki pages are underneath /doc (bug 602952), it'll start being consistent again.

Removed. In the future, IT will run stuff past Eric/Jay before making changes.
