Thanks, Florian, for the nice config. It's almost perfect.
Just please add the POP3 config, too. (It will be offered as option and used on explicit user request, the first incoming server is the default.)

I see on page <http://www.rrze.uni-erlangen.de/dienste/e-mail/postfaecher/> that you have many different kind of mailboxen. Are you sure it's OK to serve the FAUMail config to all uni-erlangen.de users? Do at least the 90% majority use FAUMail and the others know the differing config and will notice it? What about students (StudMail)? Are they in a different domain?

If there are different classes of users all under the common domain uni-erlangen.de, and they need different mail server configs, and there are at least 2 non-neglectable user groups (e.g. uni employees and students), then you need to set up your own autoconfig server and decide based on the email address that you get passed which config you'll return. Ok, I'll add support for POP3 soon.

I had the same concerns about all those different systems mentioned on the webpage. Actually the page seems to be not quite up-to-date as there is a migration going on, where all those unix mailbox users were asked to switch to FAUmail until late December as they will discontinue this service.
I myself as a student can login to either studmail or faumail having the same mails it seems to be two different front-ends for one back-end. So yes I think this config will work for more than 90% of all users.

By the way: what would be the right way to have a published config updated? Do I have to open another (new) bug?

Ah, great. Would be good to have that confirmed by somebody from the mail admins. I've already mailed postmaster.

Two postmasters said "no".

Every employee gets a FAUmail account by default, but some departments run their own mail server, but still using @uni-erlangen.de addresses. So, the config will work, but get an empty mailbox. -> support calls.

WONTFIX

I made them aware of the autoconfig server, but they don't have time currently.
