When I go to about:fennec and press the Check for Updates button, the button changes to the text "Looking for updates...".  If an update is available, it then changes to the text "Update available" for a few seconds, after which it changes back to the Check for Updates button without giving me the option to actually apply the update.

That's normally ok, because my (Samsung Vibrant Android) phone notifies me when an update is available.  But a couple days ago I accidentally cleared that notification.  So I searched for a way to apply the update manually and eventually found about:fennec, which acts like it's going to let me apply the update but ultimately doesn't.

Eventually, after giving up on applying the update manually, I discovered by accident that Fennec will apply the update the next time it starts, so the workaround is to end the Fennec process and then start Fennec again.

Nevertheless, it should be easier to do this from within the application.  At the very least, about:fennec should not tantalize me with the ability to check for an update without also allowing me to apply it.  That's like a waiter checking with the kitchen to see if a daily special is available, returning to inform me that one is, and then not letting me order it.
