As part of the redesign, we need to build a new version of the Getting Started page (that's also linked to as the Firefox Tour from the homepage). Basic content remains the same; new design files are here: http://intothefuzz.com/leetom/Mozilla.com/PSD/tour_2.psd Note: we'll update this page more extensively for Firefox 4.
This page is built out in the nova branch in r76448. Note for QA that this page was never heavily polished in IE as it was targeted to Firefox users (maybe that's changing?).
Content looks great. This page will be accessed a bit differently with the new site, so it should be more IE-friendly than what we had before.

I think the best way to solve this is to produce 8 PNG8 files, one for each section. One PNG8 works but the colors are awful. I will crop the images later.
Anthony - you should only need the PNG8 files for IE6. Also note that the styles on the light-boxes aren't working in IE and the videos in lightbox don't play (they need to use our mozilla-video tools used elsewhere on the site so they get a Flash fall-back).
Committed r79269. This uses PNG8 for all images. Only personas and add-ons look not as good as the PNG24 but I think it's ok. The previous file was 270kb while the sum is 102kb once in PNG8 (but also 8 HTTP requests which is not cool). I'm using invisible <span> to preload those PNG8.
Committed r79275 Use CDN and put JS at bottom
Committed r79276 Yeah, copy pasting is bad :)
Committed r79318. Good look for overlays on IE. I'm also trying to postpone the download of the "overlay images" since they are not needed on first view.
Committed r79321. Videos should be working through HTML5 or Flash. Steven, Alex, could you tell me what you think about that for the launch? (not perfect but enough)

Fixed lightbox close links and borders in IE6 in r79354. There's a JS-error in IE6 when closing lightboxes with videos. We'll look into this later today.
