I noticed sometime in the past few days that the Fish demo ran a little slower for me. I'm on a high end machine (i7 Core Quad @ 4.21Ghz, 12GB PC3 RAM, ATI HD3870). I was getting 60fps with all the various amounts of fishes. Now I am getting ~40fps @ 1000 fish and ~55fps @ 500 fish.

Reproducible: Always

I am testing out a version of Fx4 on Boris Zbarsky's tryserver http://hg.mozilla.org/try/rev/67046f5e402b It's in reference to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484992.

Interestingly, when I run the IE9 Fish Demo they all run at 60 fps.

Odd. That should be identical to yesterday's nightly, more or less...
I don't think it has anything to do with your patch Boris. If it does then that's good news, no? Once you get your patch on trunk I'll see how the demo runs.
Go figure.... I installed the latest hourly and I'm back to 60 fps with 1000 fish.

Perhaps it was the TM merge today.

No, it's spooky action-at-a-distance that scares me, if that were the case... ;)
I don't have a Windows machine. Bas can you confirm the bug?
Actually in Comment #4 the reporter confirms that the problem is gone.
