User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/8.0.552.5 Safari/534.10 Build Identifier: Thunderbird/3.1.5 This is a new install of Thunderbird onto a new Windows 7 computer. I use some filters to redirect the mails in the folders. Everytime I open Thunderbird, some unread bold counters appears even if no new mail arrived in the folder. Manually I select all the folder one by one, and than TB update the columns of unread, total counters. Even if a real new mail arrived in the folder, to see the unread counter bold number updated I have to select the folder. I try to compact each folder, to delete the index .msf files, manually copy all the mail messages into a new folder, but always get wrong unread & counters on starting TB! Please, help me! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Thinderbird 2.Look Foldes Unread and Counter bold numbers 3.Select a folder and see the unread and counters updated!
Summary: Folder is not automatically marking mail unread and counters → Folder is not automatically updating numbers of unread and total mails.
does running Thunderbird in -safe-mode helps ?
Running TB in -safe-mode: nothing change...the problem persists!

(In reply to comment #0) > Manually I select all the folder one by one, and than TB update the columns of > unread, total counters. Tb 3.1 doesn't have "total counter column", if you are talking about count display at folder pane. The column is shown by an add-on. (In reply to comment #2) > Running TB in -safe-mode: nothing change...the problem persists! If "total counter column by add-on at folder pane", the "total counter column" should disappear by -safe-mode, so "nothing change from comment #0" is impossible. "Count or counter at where" are you talking about? POP3? IMAP? Which folder view? All Folders? Unified Folders? Or other such as Unread Folders or Favarites Folders? (In reply to comment #0) > Steps to Reproduce: > 2.Look Foldes Unread and Counter bold numbers Which folder for Tb at which folder view do you call by "Foldes Unread" or "Foldes Unread and Counter"? If IMAP, do you enable "Check new messages upon startup/every NN minutes"? If yes, do you enable automatic new mail check for "move target folder of a message filter"? (Folder Properties/General)
