Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Linux armv71; rv2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101020 Firefox/4.0b8pre Fennec/4.0b2pre

1. go to http://people.mozilla.com/~nhirata/html_tp/formsninput.html
2. close the hardware keyboard
3. place the device in portrait mode
4. click on the text to bring up the VKB (any vkb/ime)
5. try to pan right or left to open either panel

Expected: the VKB will close and the panel will open
Actual: the VKB will close, the panel will try to open but then the focus will go back to the text field and the panel will close.

The Expected should be the side panel will open, the focus will not change.
It appears to WFM now:
