For some reason I can't paste into the message body text copied from some page displayed in the opera browser.
Pasting into the address box or subject box is ok.

What version of Thunderbird ?

Does it work better if you start Thunderbird in -safe-mode (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) ?

Also, this happens on FreeBSD-8.1 + KDE4.
This may have something to do with the way clipboard works in X.
Seems almost like text in clipboard buffer has some attribute that causes TB to not accept it. Though I don't know if such attributes really exist for texts in clipboard.

I have no Opera but pasting from everywhere else worked for me. Either way (middle-click/PRIMARY and copy&paste/CLIPBOARD) it works for me with TB 3.1.6 but I never got reports or noticed issues like that before. So no real idea but not tested Opera directly.

I confirm this behaviour. Neither Ctrl+V nor middle click work with text from Opera since quite a while (I do think it worked sometime).

Address and subject field work correctly (middle click pastes selection, Ctrl+V pastes text copied with Ctrl+C).

I you want me to test anything or give more details please ask. On the other hand, installing Opera is a clean and easy task to be finished in 2 minutes, not like having to run configure, make or anything. The are packages for everyone (deb, RPM, archive).

I can also confirm.  Strangely enough pasting the clipboard into the subject field works.

Michael, Alex, Yuri, does version 16 work for you, now that the above bug is fixed? 
TB16 currently on Aurora from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
And beta ~beginning of September.
