seen on build 2000-11-20-06-Mtrunk
- run installer with multiple profiles in place.
- profile manager opens automatically to give you choice of profile to use
expected results: available profiles are listed.
tested results: available profiles are not listed even though they are in the
correct directory.
work-around is to create a new profile. but relaunching through profile manager
doesn't show newly created profile either.

works now using 2000.11.20.16 linux bits.
