User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_4; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Safari/533.18.5 Build Identifier: 4.0b6 When I try to login to "reddit.com" with Firefox, on a daily basis, I'm required to reset my password, or it will otherwise say "invalid password". I originally thought this was a problem with reddit, obviously, but then I tried logging in on my cell phone, and on Safari, and it works fine. I have tried retyping my password (in case I made Firefox save an incorrectly typed password) but the login fails regardless. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Close Firefox (or clear login history) 2. Try logging into reddit. 3. Shed tears of sadness. Actual Results: Reddit tries to login, but says "invalid password" and gives me the opportunity to "recover my password". After resetting the password, the login works fine, but this problem re-occurs after restarting Firefox (which clears my login cache/history in the process) Expected Results: It should redirect me to being logged in. I think I've explained everything already.
have you cleared your cache and cookies?
My cache was being cleared when i restarted Firefox. I set it to clear cookies too, now, and instead of getting the usual message, it said "an error occurred while posting (status: 504)" (which, due to some research I just did, might've been a product of me trying to log in numerous times in a short period of time). I gave it some time, restarted Firefox, and now I get a mixture of "invalid password" and "an error occurred while posting (status: 504)" messages.
Error console message (not sure if this is at all related to my problem, but it stood out because it was in blueeee) www.mozilla.org : server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555
Yeah, interesting. Are you using special security to try and login? Try adjusting that and see if it helps.
By security, do you mean within firefox, or like antivirus, or like a router firewall?
Not sure if this will help, but here's a "weblog"? GAH! Sorry for all the trouble, it was totally user error. I had my email address instead of my username in the login box... Thanks for all your help anyways! (and sorry, again).
Glad to see it was an easy fix. Also, don't forget to try the Mozilla support website and/or forums like MozillaZine.com since there are always people around for immediate troubleshooting if its something simple and not an actual bug with Firefox. This should be marked resolve->WFM.

(In reply to Christopher Duncan from comment #7) > GAH! Sorry for all the trouble, it was totally user error. [...] (In reply to Dennis "Dale" Y. [:cuz84d] from comment #8) [...] > This should be marked resolve->WFM. Resolved as invalid instead, as "the problem described is not a bug" [1] but, in this case, is due to a user (recognized) error. Thanks, Denis, for helping with the troubleshooting process. [1] https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status
