Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; nl; rv:1.9.2.11) Gecko/20101012 Firefox/3.6.11
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; nl; rv:1.9.2.11) Gecko/20101012 Firefox/3.6.11

For my work I often have to read through multiple pdf's. These are linked from a single page. I go through the list, scrolling down by keyboard and CTRT clicking the links to the pdf's so each one opens in a new tab. While the view doesn't switch to the new tab (as it should), the keyboard controls do switch to the new tab causing the user to browse invisibly in the pdf instead of further on the parent tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Page with multiple links to pdf's (e.g. http://arxiv.org/list/astro-ph/new)
2. Scroll through page using keyboard
3. Open a PDF link using the mouse + CTRL
4. Try scrolling down further
Actual Results:
The page refuses to scroll down further. If you change tabs to the new pdf you'll see that it has been scrolling in there.

Expected Results:
The parent page scrolls using keyboard.

Adobe acrobat 9.3.0.148
I see exactly the same using Minefield and Acrobat 9.4.0
Can you both please test with the Firefox 4.0 beta 6 version in a fresh profile? Would be good to know if this has been fixed in the next major version.

For me it's not working with FF4b6 and latest Minefield.
It happens not only with keyboard but mouse/touch pad scroll also
It seems to be fixed with latest Minefield
No focus related patches have been landed the last day AFAICS. Can you test a build from yesterday to make sure it is fixed? thanks.
That's interesting. It was working fine for me today.
So I installed 11.06 build and it didn't work.
I then updated back to 11.07 and it's still not working. Wieird.
Some additional info: tabs in different window than pdf tab scroll fine
So for the initial comment... What happens if you re-set the focus to the current tab? Does that work and are you able to scroll again or does the PDF tab always claim the focus?
It is broken in the same window.
first window: google.com tab and some pdf tab
second window: yahoo.com tab

Inside first window it is broken. I can scroll pdf tab but while trying to scroll google.com it actually scrolls pdf file.
Inside second window I can normally scroll Yahoo while pdf tab is opened in another window

Even when you go back and forth between those open tabs?

1. Open google.com
2. Open PDF in second tab
3. Switch to second tab
4. Switch to first tab
5. Try to scroll
Yes indeed. I'll try to play with new profiles etc. later today ande see if it'll change anything
Ok, I guess this is not the Firefox problem.
Today it works back again(maybe system restart helped)
What's more, even if I go back to 11.06 build, it's still working.
This might be problem with my profile but I haven't seen any changes (no addons updated/deleted etc.)
This is likely the same bug as 564716.
Duplicate of Bug 273456. Also, refer to Bug 78414.
