Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b6) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b6
Build Identifier:

Installed Fennec 4.0b2pre (26.10.2010) on my Desire and connected with my Firefox Sync account (PC: WindowsXP SP3; Firefox 4.0b7). Tried to sync my bookmarks and although the sync was completed after 1 minute, it never completely synced all of my bookmarks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Fennec 4.0b2pre
2.Connect Sync
3.Sync
No special setup steps.
Actual Results:
Part of my bookmarks as well as all of my folders are synced.

Expected Results:
All bookmarks in all the folders are synced.
Fennec stops syncing after 50 bookmarks. The next sync (a few minutes later) will download another 50 bookmarks, and so on until all bookmarks are synced.

I believe this is done to make the browser more usable during initial sync, since the browser runs slowly while downloading a huge number of bookmarks at once. But we need to change something about this, because it's unclear to users what is happening and why.

Summary: Bookmarks are never completely synced (only a limited number) on my HTC Desire Froyo. → Bookmarks are not completely synced after first sync is finished
Thanks for your information. This leads to an additional problem: as you cannot define the "master" of firefox sync, your computer will sync with now incomplete bookmark repository and a lot of bookmarks are lost (naturally they are backuped).

The partial sync will not lose any bookmarks. It will just take a while for the mobile client to get all bookmarks when you have lots of them.
Anyway, we're getting rid of partial sync as in bug 609398. Duping this.
