(Whiteboard: [closeme 2012-03-01])

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/7.0.517.41 Safari/534.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101027 Thunderbird/3.1.6

If (for instance) I configure thunderbird for gmail using the appropriate FAQ's and guides and relocating the folders via the [gmail]/[google mail] route the unified folder will not update unless I go in to properties and select the appropriate folder. I think that you should have set unified folders for junk/all mail/sent based on the standard imap tags, but also be able to make your own custom unified folders too.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create multiple gmail accounts
2. add gmail accounts to thunderbird
3. reconfigure junk, all mail and sent items to point to [gmail]\spam, etc
4. wait for spam to arrive (hooray)
5.) unified folder does not show messages when clicked on, and when you select properties unk folder is not selected.
6. select appropriate unk folder and presto it works.
Anything in Tools -> Error console when this happens ?

(also this looks a lot like bug 578148)
Reporter,

do you still see this problem when using a current version of thunderbird?

And if you do not, please close bug report by changing resolution to worksforme
