User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 Glue/4.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101027 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1.6
Yesterday I have installed Thunderbird version 3.1.6 and now I am getting the message below.
"Alert
The folder Inbox is full, and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder."
I have completely emptied the Inbox by transferring all files to another directory and the message still appears. So what should I do as I am unable to receive ANY email?
Thanks,
George Bleier
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Thunderbird
2.Opening page 'Thunderbird page - Inbox' opens while in the bottom left hand the message "Building summary file for Inbox" and then the 'Alert' message appears
3.No messages are received and the Inbox is empty.
Actual Results:
No messages are received and the Inbox is empty.
Expected Results:
I expect to receive messages and currently at least 16 are in line to arrive.
Version 3.1.5 worked fine and all before worked fine also, now I am stuck. I have neither firewall nor virus program installed.
I will keep a lookout for any messages from you, but it is more difficult as I get no alerts from there.

Did you also compact the folder? You can do so, by right clicking on the folder and choosing Compact...

I have compacted ALL folders and I still cannot receive emails, but there is no problem with sending. So, how can I correct this problem? Please help!

What is file size of file for the Inbox folder?
(file seze of Inbox, not Inbox.msf. see Folder Properties/General/Location: of Inbox for file location)
If large(larger than 4GB), bug 608449 may happen.
Anyway, terminate Tb, rename file named Inbox to Inbox-BKUP, rename Inbox.msf to Inbox(same as delete Inbox + re-define null Inbox), restart Tb, click Inbox, copy a mail to Inbox folder.
Will mails downloaded normally?
If file size of Inbox-BKUP is larger than 4GB, manual recovery of mail data in it may be required. See bug 598104 coment #18 for an example of manual recovery procedure.

What is file size of Inbox-BKUP(not Inbox-BKUP.msf)?
Is all mails in Inbox-BKUP folder accessible?
Show "Order Received" column(value is offset in file of Inbox-BKUP). Is very large value seen?
