See steps to reproduce

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Started thunderbird
2. Loaded new messages
3. Started writing a reply to some message.
4. Meanwhile, my pop/smtp server got down (it happens)
5. I try to send the message. The server doesn't respond.
6. I press ctrl-S to save the message as the draft
Actual Results:
2 error messages. Rough translation from russian:
1-st: cannot send the message
2-nd: cannot save the draft. check the server parameters

Expected Results:
Ok message

Feel extremely frustrated.
Many, many versions ago thunderbird was much better. Really.
Not an exploitable issue that needs to remain hidden.
